There is not yet an agreement between Roma and Sassuolo for a transfer of midfielder Davide Frattesi, with Inter and AC Milan also possible candidates to sign him.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, via FCInterNews, who report that Frattesi’s club the Neroverdi are still hoping that the Netrazzurri or the Rossoneri could still emerge to make it a bidding war for the 23-year-old’s signature.

Roma have made Frattesi a major transfer target to bolster their midfield ahead of next season.

The Giallorossi are working to get a deal done to sign the 23-year-old during the summer transfer window.

Moreover, Frattesi would like to make the switch to Roma.

The midfielder grew up as a Giallorossi fan and came through the club’s youth system, and his ambition is to wear the number 16 shirt associated with club legend Daniele De Rossi.

However, according to La Repubblica, no agreement has yet been reached between the capital club and Sassuolo.

Rather, the Neroverdi are hoping that they can get as large of a fee from a sale of Frattesi as possible if he is to be on his way this summer.

Towards this end, Sassuolo are hoping that other clubs show a serious interest in him, with city rivals Inter and AC Milan likely candidates.

The Neroverdi are hoping that a transfer battle for Frattesi’s signature among several of Serie A’s biggest club drives the total value of a fee for him up as high as possible.
