Inter have turned down the request of Sampdoria to sign young Nerazzurri-owned goalkeeper Filip Stankovic on loan.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, who reported yesterday evening that the Blucerchiati asked about the availability of Stankovic but that Inter have no intention of cutting the 20-year-old’s loan spell with Volendam short.

Sampdoria are looking to make reinforcements during the January transfer window, as they battle relegation from Serie A.

Coach Dejan Stankovic, legendary former Nerazzurri and Lazio midfielder, is the father of goalkeeper Stankovic, and considered the 20-year-old to be a target.

However, Inter have their own plan for the young Serb’s development, as he has spent the past season and a half on loan in the Netherlands with Volendam.

Stankovic was an important player for the Dutch side as they secured promotion to the Eredivisie last season.

This time around as well, the Nerazzurri-owned keeper has impressed for Volendam despite the newly-promoted side’s struggles in the top flight.

Accordingly, Sky reports, Inter have turned down the request of Sampdoria to sign Stankovic.
