Former Inter defender Daniele Adani feels that his old side were completely worth their win against Napoli yesterday evening.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster RAI, via L’Interista, the former defender was highly complimentary towards the manner of the Nerazzurri’s 1-0 win against league leaders the Partenopei.
Given the way things looked heading into yesterday evening’s match, Inter would not likely have turned down a victory over Napoli no matter how it arrived.
However, the fact that the Nerazzurri not only handed the Campanians their first loss of the season but did so in emphatic fashion was certainly a bonus.
Inter got a boost in confidence knowing that they not only handed a team who had been virtually perfect in Serie A this season their first real setback, but also did so with the kind of performance that they did, on both sides of the ball.
For Adani’s part, the former defender was a big fan of what he saw.
“It wasn’t quite Napoli at their best,” he said, “but then Inter played an absolutely brilliant match.”
“They fought hard in both phases of play, the two strikers brought the game to the opposition, and the wingbacks as well.”
Adanie argued that “Inter looked sharper, played with better clarity, and looked more ruthless and aggressive.”
