Italian journalist Marco Barzaghi feels that both coach Antonio Conte and wingback Achraf Hakimi would like to return to Inter.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Barzaghi reported that both Conte and Hakimi have regrets about leaving the Nerazzurri similar to when Romelu Lukaku left, and suggested that Milan Skriniar will be thinking about this as he considers his contract extension.
Inter have seen a number of high-profile departures in the past couple years.
Coach Conte was the first to go, leaving the Nerazzurri not long after winning the Serie A title in the 2020-21 season.
Hakimi followed Conte out the door to join Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, whilst Lukaku then left to join Chelsea.
The Belgian made a high-profile return to Inter on loan from Chelsea after pushing for the return.
According to Barzaghi, the regret that Lukaku had felt is also being experienced by Hakimi and Conte, whilst defender Skriniar is noting their situations as he considers the club’s contract extension offer.
“Marotta’s remarks on Skriniar’s contract make it clear that Inter have done all they can, even if on the other side there is the great allure of joining Paris Saint-Germain,” the journalist said.
“On the other hand, however, he’ll also be looking at what’s happened to others who have left recently,” he continued.
“Perisic has yet to really arrive in London, Hakimi wants to come back, Lukaku is back and I know that Conte would also like to return to Inter,” Barzaghi said.
“I would think long and hard before leaving the Nerazzurri.”
