Italian media have named defender Milan Skriniar as Inter’s outstanding performer in their 1-0 win over Napoli yesterday evening.
The 27-year-old received a score of 7/10 in the player ratings for the match published in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, along with commendation for his job on Partenopei winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Keeping Kvaratskhelia quiet was always going to be a tough ask for Inter and for Skriniar in particular as the Georgian’s opposite number on the pitch.
The 22-year-old has proved himself to be Napoli’s danger man on numerous occasions this season, but Skriniar didn’t show any signs that he was scared of the test.
Tuttosport compare the performance of the Slovakian to former Nerazzurri great Walter Samuel in how he used his physicality and concentration to neutralize Kvaratskhelia.
Meanwhile, all of Francesco Acerbi, Alessandro Bastoni, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Hakan Calhanoglu all received the same 7/10 grade as Skriniar.
The likes of Nicolo Barella, Matteo Darmian, and Federico Dimarco were just a notch lower at 6.5/10.
