Defender Milan Skriniar could leave Inter during the January transfer window if he does not agree a contract extension.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that a transfer away this month would not be impossible if the 27-year-old decides to reject the Nerazzurri’s contract offer.
By now, the state of the contract talks between Inter and Skriniar is closing in on a conclusion one way or the other.
The Slovakian has had the Nerazzurri’s offer in hand for more than two months, and whilst he has not given them a response yet, one is expected by a deadline around the middle of the current month.
According to the Corriere, if the former Sampdoria defender decides to decisively reject the club’s offer, a move away in January can not be ruled out.
Inter would be very reluctant to lose Skriniar on a free transfer, so if he does decide against extending, the newspaper reports that they could decide to cash in.
