Inter striker Lautaro Martinez received a roaring ovation from the San Siro when he came onto the pitch as a substitute in the second half of the Nerazzurri’s 1-0 Serie A win over Napoli yesterday.
The 25-year-old was given the reception as he returned from the World Cup as world champion, but in truth it was only normal for how he tends to be received by the Inter faithful at the San Siro.
Martinez thanked the fans for their support in a post on his Instagram account.
He wrote, “Thanks for the affection that you always show me, but in particular thanks for the reception this evening.”
“I’m happy that we got our first win of 2023,” he added.
