Inter are set to focus on contract extension talks with defender Danilo D’Ambrosio once they have wrapped up a new deal for wingback Matteo Darmian.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInter1908, who reported this evening that the 34-year-old is the next in line for a meeting to discuss a possible extension after the Nerazzurri put pen to paper on a new deal for Darmian.

Darmian’s contract extension looks close to being done, whilst Inter are continuing to wait for a response from Milan Skriniar, having set a deadline of January 20 for the Slovakian to respond to their offer.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri are keen to get contract extension talks with Stefan de Vrij moving along, having offered the Dutchman a two-year deal.

With Darmian’s extension looking close at hand, Inter’s next move will be to hold a meeting regarding a possible new deal for D’Ambrosio, whose contract also expires at the end of June 2023.

The likes of Samir Handanovic, Roberto Gagliardini, and Edin Dzeko also see their contracts run out at the end of the season, and the Nerazzurri are calmly evaluating all of their situations.
