Bayern Munich are no longer targeting Inter-linked Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram.

This according to German broadcaster Sky Sports Deutschland, via FCInter1908, who reported this evening that the Bavarians have pulled out of the race to sign the 25-year-old, leaving the Nerazzurri without one formidable competitor for his signature.

Thuram is one of Inter’s major targets in attack, but there is no shortage of competition to sign the Frenchman.

One of the Nerazzurri’s main rivals for Thuram’s signature has been German champions Bayern, who have reportedly been considering a move for the former Guingamp striker and ready to offer a larger contract than the Nerazzurri.

According to Sky Deutschland, however, the Bavarians’ interest in Thuram has cooled.

The German broadcaster reports that Bayern have all but lost interest in signing the French international and World Cup runner-up, either this month for a fee or at the end of the season on a free transfer.
