Inter are very close to agreeing a new one-year contract extension with wingback Matteo Darmian, containing the option of a further season.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, who report that it shouldn’t be long before the Nerazzurri and Darmian put pen to paper on a new deal.

Darmian’s situation is not as much of a priority as that of defender Milan Skriniar.

However, like Skriniar as well as Stefan de Vrij and Danilo d’Ambrosio in the Nerazzurri’s defense, the 33-year-old’s current deal runs out at the end of June of this year.

The Nerazzurri are keen to keep Darmian on past the end of the season, whilst the former Manchester United, Torino, and Parma wingback would like to extend his stay.

Accordingly, the club will look to continue the negotiations with Darmian and his representatives during the January transfer window, and Sky report that they shouldn’t be far away from agreeing a new one-year deal with an option for an additional season.
