Inter and Edin Dzeko are both on the same page about wanting to continue on together, but the terms on a new contract are yet to be agreed.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri will have to convince the 36-year-old on wages before they can put pen to paper on a new deal.

It has not been any secret that Inter are keen to keep hold of Dzeko past the end of the current season.

Meanwhile, the striker has indicated to the club that he has no intention of leaving at the end of the campaign if a new contract can be agreed.

However, the Nerazzurri want to lower the Bosnian’s wages, from around €5.5 million net per season to around €3-3.5 million net per season.

The player, for his part, has no intention of taking pay cut, or at least not one that large, given the continued quality of his performances.

Accordingly, Dzeko and Inter will have to sit down and agree terms before a new contract can be signed.
