Inter will shift their focus to contract extension talks with Stefan de Vrij once the negotiations with his defensive teammate Milan Skriniar are wrapped up.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, who report that the negotiations with de Vrij will become the Nerazzurri’s priority once they have gotten the final response from Skriniar.

De Vrij now has Inter’s offer of a two-year contract extension at around the same wages that he currently earns, and has had it for a number of days.

The 30-year-old is yet to respond to the offer, and so far the Nerazzurri have not made the matter a priority.

For the time being, Inter’s focus has principally on getting rid of the uncertainty around Skriniar’s future, considering it is still far from clear how the negotiations with the Slovakian will go.

Once Skriniar gives the Nerazzurri a yes or no to their contract offer to him, however, the club will immediately shift focus to de Vrij, Sky reports.
