Inter should theoretically have little difficulty finding goals over the rest of the season, given the pedigree of the strikers that they have at their disposal.
This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who noted that the likes of Edin Dzeko, Romelu Lukaku, and Lautaro Martinez have found the back of the net a total of 862 times for club and country between them.
The Nerazzurri can boast two strikers in their ranks who are the top scorers in their respective national teams’ histories.
Lukaku is Belgium’s top scorer, whilst Dzeko has both made more appearances and scored more goals than any other player for Bosnia and Herzgovina.
Moreover, the pair have scored no shortage of club goals, the former for Everton, Manchester United, and Inter primarily, whilst the latter has been prolific for Wolfsburg, Manchester City, and Roma before keeping it up for the Nerazzurri.
Less experienced and decorated but at times no less lethal in front of goal is Martinez, who was Inter’s top scorer last season with 25 goals in all competitions.
Right now, Dzeko is the man in form, but the other two don’t look to be too far behind the Bosnian, and so Inter coach Simone Inzaghi would be forgiven for thinking that as long as his team can create chances, his strikers will be able to finish them.
