Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin believes that Inter are expecting that the final response from defender Milan Skriniar to their contract extension offer will come before the team leaves for Saudi Arabia later this month.

Speaking to the Twitch channel of Italian broadcaster Calciomercato.it, via FCInter1908, the journalist explained that in terms of a timeline for a response, the Nerazzurri have set the team’s trip to Saudi Arabia to face AC Milan in the Supercoppa Italiana as a benchmark.

December has come and gone without Skriniar giving his response to Inter’s offer of a four- or five-year contract extension.

Now, January is in full swing.

The team now have commitments on the pitch, whilst behind the scenes the club directors will already be planning and strategizing for well beyond the end of the current season.

Accordingly, the Nerazzurri do not feel that the situation with Skriniar can drag on for much longer.

“Inter made Skriniar an offer over a month ago worth €6 million net per season plus add-ons for four or five seasons, and they’re working on additional add-ons,” Biasin explained.

“On the other hand, from France there’s an offer worth almost €10 million net per season.”

“The only thing that’s anything close to certain is that Inter want Skriniar’s response before the team leave for Saudi Arabia,” Biasin went on, “they wouldn’t want to go beyond that.”
