Legendary former AC Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi believes that Napoli didn’t look at their best when they lost to Inter on Wednesday evening.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, the former coach also gave the view that the Serie A title race is right back on after the league leaders suffered their first loss of the season away to the Nerazzurri.

Inter will have expected to be seriously tested by Napoli given the Campanians’ form prior to the winter break.

In truth, whilst the Partenopei certainly had their moments and posed a threat, the Nerazzurri were able to restrict them in a way that few teams have this season.

It took until very late on in the match for Napoli to register a shot on target, whilst the possession in midfield was not nearly as incisive as it tends to be from Luciano Spalletti’s team.

“Napoli weren’t their usual selves in that match,” Sacchi argued, “now they’ll have to find the compactness and the mechanisms in possession that served them so well before the break again.”

And then asked if Inter and Milan can get back into the Serie A title race, he replied “Yes, if they can get back to playing as a team.”
