Salernitana and former Inter, Lazio, and Sampdoria wingback Antonio Candreva feels that current Nerazzurri striker Romelu Lukaku is the most impressive player that he has ever played alongside.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, the 35-year-old named Lukaku as the best player who he has ever had as a teammate.

Candreva joined Inter from Lazio in the summer of 2016.

The wingback spent a total of four years in a Nerazzurri shirt, before departing to join Sampdoria in the summer of 2020.

Candreva only shared a dressing room with Lukaku for one season, given that the Belgian joined the Nerazzurri in the summer of 2019.

However, even just from playing alongside Lukaku for a single season, Candreva had a big impression made upon him.

Now presumably in the closing stages of his playing days, Candreva has played with no shortage of top players, but for him Lukaku is the one who he considers to be the best.

“He’s a top centre-forward, and when he came to Inter he improved a lot,” Candreva said of the Belgian.

“He makes virtually no mistakes in front of goal, he’s a complete striker.”

Candreva noted that “We have a good relationship, we talk still today.”

“When we were together in Milan he called me Toni or Tonino.”
