Inter coach Simone Inzaghi could turn to Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez to lead his attack in this evening’s Serie A match against Monza.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Edin Dzeko may drop to the bench despite netting the winner against league leaders Napoli in a 1-0 victory on Wednesday, with the former Roma striker struggling with fatigue.

Dzeko is reported as being fit enough to feature against Monza, but Inzaghi does not want to take any risks and is considering leaving the 36-year-old on the bench, particularly as he has already proven his form.

Consideration is also being given to the Supercoppa Italiana against AC Milan on 18 January, with Inzaghi keen to get all his strikers, including Joaquin Correa, up to full fitness before that game.

As such, he is ready to bring Martinez into the starting line-up to build his match fitness up, whilst Lukaku also needs more minutes after a season that has limited him to just six appearances so far.
