Former Juventus and Middlesborough striker Fabrizio Ravanelli feels that Inter played every bit as well against Napoli as they had done against Barcelona in the Champions League.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInter1908, the former striker compared the Nerazzurri’s performance to beat the league leaders to the one which saw them beat the Blaugranas in the Champions League group stage in October.

Inter beat both Barcelona and Napoli by scorelines of 1-0 at the San Siro.

In both matches, the Nerazzurri allowed their opponents to have the majority of possession, but rarely allowed them to get comfortable or find dangerous passes.

Meanwhile, Inter looked to be ruthless with how they attacked, getting forward with speed and accuracy to be well worth their goals in each match.

As far as Ravanelli is concerned, the two matches were similar in their gameplans and dynamics, and every bit equal in quality.

“Inter played a great match,” he said, “they deserve great credit because they played a match on par with the one they did against Barcelona, with great defending, heart, intensity, and pressing.”

“They showed character to get a win that they really wanted, and they deserved it,” he added.
