Inter are continuing to monitor the fitness of midfielder Marcelo Brozovic and are trying to rehabilitate him in time for the Supercoppa Italiana.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Tuttosport, the Croatia international is facing another setback in his injury-hit campaign after suffering a minor muscle strain in his left foot.

Brozovic suffered a thigh injury in September that ruled him out until November, before picking up another muscle strain during Croatia’s 3-0 defeat to Argentina in the World Cup semi-final in Qatar last month.

Whilst this latest injury is only thought to be minor, the Nerazzurri are being cautious and want to have the former Dinamo Zagreb man available for the clash against AC Milan in Riyadh on 18 January.

Indeed, Brozovic trained separately yesterday and is working his way back to fitness, but Inter are determined to maintain his long-term condition whilst balancing the need to have him available in Serie A to make up ground in the title race.
