Monza goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio will face his old team Inter for the first time tomorrow, having come up through the Nerazzurri’s youth ranks.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who note that the 25-year-old has a very strong connection to the Nerazzurri, and could be in for a night of mixed emotions facing his old team.

Di Gregorio played for Inter at every youth level, having initially joined the Nerazzurri’s youth academy as a young boy.

The goalkeeper will feel a strong sense of attachment to the Nerazzurri, naturally.

However, the 25-year-old has also been making a name for himself with Monza.

Di Gregoio helped the Brianzoli reach Serie A for the first time during his two seasons on loan with the Lombard club in Serie B.

His performances over those two campaigns convinced Monza to sign the keeper permanently from the Nerazzurri.

Therefore, Di Gregorio’s long association with Inter officially ended over the summer.

This does not mean, however, that the 25-year-old will not have a lingering feeling of attachment for the Nerazzurri, and this could make tomorrow’s match one of the most important of his career to date.
