Legendary former Sampdoria, Juventus, Chelsea, and Italy striker Gianluca Vialli passed away yesterday of cancer at the age of 58.

The former striker had a great impact on the Italian game, which also extended past his playing days as he was part of the national team’s coaching staff as they won the EUROs in the summer of 2021.

Inter Vice-President Javier Zanetti paid tribute to Vialli in a post on his official Instagram account.

He captioned the post, “You were class, elegance, and respect on and off the pitch. Your smile will remain every day. Rest in peace, Gianluca.”
