Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has been criticised for his management of the Nerazzurri’s 2-2 draw against Monza in Serie A yesterday.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere della Sera, the tactician was at fault for allowing his team to squander a lead in stoppage time, as Monza snatched a point at the U-Power Stadium.
Indeed, the newspaper argued that Inter lacked intensity in the match and showed poor fitness levels, whilst defensive fragilities were laid bare again as they conceded for a 13th successive away game.
Inter are described as having serious faults, with a clear disconnect between different parts of the pitch and a lack of continuity in controlling the game, whilst they were put under pressure by Monza for large swathes of the match.
Monza’s substitutions were positive and gave the hosts the impetus to secure a point, whilst Inzaghi’s unimpressed, although the enforced changes of the injured Nicolo Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu impacted this.
However, referee Juan Luca Sacchi also came in for heavy criticism after his mistake in disallowing a Francesco Acerbi goal, despite there being no foul in the build up.
