Inter striker Edin Dzeko failed to build on his excellent performance against Napoli in midweek as he laboured during the 2-2 draw against Monza yesterday.

According to L’Interista.it, the Bosnia international was not as influential as he had been when netting the only goal in the 1-0 victory over the Partenopei on Wednesday, as he only lasted 55 minutes at the U-Power Stadium.

It is argued that Dzeko was unable to link up with strike partner Lautaro Martinez effectively, whilst Tuttosport claimed that he lacked the burning desire of his Argentine teammate, and awarded him a disappointing 5 in their player ratings.

The former Roma striker was rated at 5.5 by La Gazzetta dello Sport, who considered his performance against Monza a backward step following his display in the win over Napoli.

Corriere dello Sport and L’Interista felt that Dzeko had put in a performance worthy of a 5.5 as well, whilst Tuttomercatoweb afforded him the highest score, with a rating of 6.
