Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has come in for severe criticism from Italian media after a dreadful performance in the 2-2 draw against Monza yesterday evening.

The Belgian was introduced from the bench early in the second half but failed to make an impact at the U-Power Stadium, with a series of poor touches hindering Inter in their pursuit of victory.

According to L’Interista.it, Lukaku was a shadow of the player that impressed against Napoli on Wednesday, and the former Manchester United striker endured the ignominy of extremely low scores across the various player ratings of major Italian media.

Corriere dello Sport described Lukaku as a disaster and not in good physical condition as they gave him a 4.5.

Lukaku received the same score from Tuttosport, whilst La Gazzetta dello Sport went even further in branding his display as only being worthy of a 4.

They criticised his lack of impact from the bench, claiming that he made an avalanche of mistakes, with the stadium incredulous at his inability to control the ball or get his shots on target.

Meanwhile, Tuttomercatoweb and L’Interista were more generous in awarding the Chelsea loanee a 5.
