Inter midfielders Nicolo Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu could undergo medical tests today after signs of muscular fatigue in the team’s Serie A match against Monza over the weekend.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the team’s medical staff could further assess the pair with regards to their recoveries.

Barella and Calhanoglu have already both been looked at by Inter’s medical staff after both came off as substitutes during the second half of Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Monza.

The early assessments showed that there was no serious injury to either of the pair.

However, this does not necessarily mean that the midfielders can return right away without risk.

There is optimism that neither player will be sidelined for long, but further confirmation may still be needed.

To this end, the Nerazzurri could opt to have the duo undergo further medical tests to make sure their condition is well-understoof before further decisions are made.
