Midfielders Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicolo Barella are set to miss out on the Nerazzurri’s Coppa Italia round of sixteen match against Parma through injury.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, who report that the duo will be left out of the squad for the match against the Emilians after medical tests today showed the extend of their muscle problems.

Both Barella and Calhanoglu had come off the pitch as substitutes during the second half of Inter’s Serie A clash with Monza over the weekend.

Neither of the pair had necessarily been expected to start for the Nerazzurri in Wednesday’s Coppa Italia tie against Parma as coach Simone Inzaghi is anticipated to play a heavily-rotated starting eleven.

However, it does not look as though either of the duo will feature at all.

According to Sky, both Barella and Calhanoglu will miss out on the match entirely, as neither is set to be called up to the squad for the match.
