Inter are optimistic that Nicolo Barella will be able to play in the Supercoppa Italiana against AC Milan, but much less so regarding Hakan Calhanoglu.
This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Nerazzurri have differing views regarding the potential availability of the two midfielders for the clash with the Rossoneri in Saudi Arabia next week.
Both Barella and Calhanoglu are carrying muscular knocks that they picked up during the Nerazzurri’s Serie A draw against Monza over the weekend.
In the former’s case, the feeling is that it is not very serious and that the 25-year-old should be recovered with more than enough time to play against Milan in the Supercoppa.
In the case of the latter, however, the Turkish international has an issue with his thigh flexor.
Both Barella and Calhanoglu will undergo medical tests tomorrow which should give more of a sense regarding their availability against the Rossoneri, but right now the feeling is that Barella will be fit and Calhanoglu will not.
