Inter remain very angry about the refereeing error by Juan Luca Sacchi which saw them not awarded a third goal in their 2-2 draw with Monza over the weekend, despite the fact that the official has received a punishment.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the frustration remains with the error even with the official having apologized.
Inter made no attempt to hide their fury with Sacchi’s decision to whistle prior to what looked like a third goal by Francesco Acerbi on Saturday, with both coach Simone Inzaghi and Lautaro Martinez venting in interviews after the match.
Sacchi has acknowledged his mistake in whistling prematurely when he had misidentified two Monza players getting in each others’ way for a Nerazzurri foul in the buildup to the goal.
Moreover, the official has been suspended from duty until the end of the current month as punishment, and should return to action in Serie B as a fourth official according to the Gazzetta.
However, Inter still feel hard done by, and the punishment received by Sacchi has far from calmed their outrage.
