Inter midfielders Nicolo Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu will both be fit and available for the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with Hellas Verona on Saturday evening.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reported this evening via FCInter1908 that the pair both underwent medical tests which revealed that neither had suffered a serious injury in last Saturday’s Serie A match against Monza.

Both Barella and Calhanoglu had to come off as substitutes during the second half of Inter’s Serie A match with Monza.

This led to worries that one or both could be at risk for the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with Verona, and even potentially the Supercoppa Italiana match against AC Milan next week.

Particularly in the case of Calhanoglu, it had not been certain that the 28-year-old would be ready to face his old side in the Supercoppa next Wednesday.

However, both midfielders got positive prognoses from their respective examinations by the club’s medical staff today.

Both Barella and Calhanoglu are set to spend the next few days working individually to recover from their injuries according to Di Marzio, and should be fully fit in time to be called up for Saturday’s Serie A clash with the Gialloblu.

Neither of the pair will be part of Inter’s squad for this evening’s Coppa Italia round of sixteen match against Parma, however.
