Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is nervously awaiting updates regarding the fitness of four key Nerazzurri players ahead of next week’s Supercoppa Italiana clash with AC Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the coach will have to wait to see whether striker Romelu Lukaku and midfielders Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Marcelo Brozovic will be fit for the clash.

None of Lukaku, Barella, Calhanoglu, or Brozovic were in Inter’s squad for yesterday evening’s Coppa Italia win over Parma.

The quartet are all fairly close to returning from their injuries, none of which are particularly major.

However, in each case further updates will have to arrive from training and from the team’s medical staff before it becomes clear whether they can play against Milan next week.

Accordingly, for at least the next day or two Inzaghi will have to nervously wait amid the uncertainty.
