Legendary former Inter defender Beppe Bergomi feels that it is his former side who have the toughest road ahead if they are to try and get back into the Serie A title race.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, the former defender gave the view that the Nerazzurri’s margins in the race for the Scudetto are razor thin compared to Napoli, AC Milan, and Juventus.

Inter are not exactly out of the hunt for the Serie A title, as ten points is still an achievable gap to make up with more than half of the season left to play.

However, it is scarcely deniable that the Nerazzurri will have to start playing better and especially doing so on a more consistent basis if they are to have any hope of catching up.

For Bergomi, Inter are still part of a four-team race for the title, but they are the ones who will struggle the most to finish top of the pile.

“There are four teams in it,” he said, “Napoli, Juventus, Milan, and Inter.”

“The Nerazzurri are the team with the toughest road ahead though,” he continued, “ten points is a lot to make up at this point.”
