Inter will have to sell one big name player this summer, and all signs point to it being Denzel Dumfries who leaves.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInter1908, who report that the fact that there is significant transfer interest in the Dutchman, and that other big names are unlikely to depart, means that an exit could be on the card for Dumfries.

It is all but certain that Inter will have to make a big sale in the summer in order to meet financial targets, considering that they did not sell one of their top players last summer.

The likes of Lautaro Martinez and Nicolo Barella would not be very likely to leave, particularly given that both of the pair recently extended their contracts.

Meanwhile, Alessandro Bastoni’s deal runs out at the end of June 2024, but the Nerazzurri are keen to extend it, whilst the 23-year-old is inclined towards staying.

This leaves Dumfries as the most likely candidate for a big sale.

The former PSV wingback turns 27 in April, and he is admired by a number of Europe’s heavy hitters who believe that he has further potential to grow.

For these reasons, the price tag for any sale of Dumfries would likely be high, and the Nerazzurri are edging towards cashing in on him.
