Inter are in the quarterfinals of the Coppa Italia after their extra time win over Parma yesterday evening.

The Nerazzurri did not have an easy time reaching this stage, needing a late equalizer and then extra time winner to avoid elimination, and had they not managed this then they would have broken a streak that was eight matches running going into the match.

As football statistics account Opta noted in a tweet, the Nerazzurri have now reached the last eight of the competition for the ninth season running.

They tweeted, “9 – Inter have progressed the round of 16 in each of the last nine season in Coppa Italia, going to extra time in each of the most recent three (v Fiorentina, Empoli and Parma). Photo-finish.”
