Inter defender Stefan de Vrij is not in any hurry to accept his club’s contract extension offer as he considers his future amid interest from teams outside Serie A.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that La Liga side Villarreal as well as a number of teams in the Premier League have emerged to test the 30-year-old’s resolve.

De Vrij now has Inter’s offer on the table, and the Dutchman is well aware that the Nerazzurri want to accelerate talks to secure his future at the club rather than lose him on a free transfer at the end of the current season.

However, as of yet the former Lazio and Feyenoord defender has shown no sign that he will rush to make a decision.

Villarreal are the latest team to step forward with an interest in signing de Vrij, whilst he is aware that clubs in the English top flight would also be keen to sign him on a free transfer.

Accordingly de Vrij will wait a little while longer and consider his options before he responds to the Nerazzurri’s offer.
