Chelsea are in advanced talks with Inter-linked Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram on a move this month.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reports on his homepage that the Blues could convince the 25-year-old to make the switch during the January transfer window with their latest offer.

Thuram has previously shown a preference to stay at Gladbach until the end of the current season and then leave on a free transfer in the summer, despite there being no shortage of interest in signing him for a fee in January.

The Nerazzurri have been among the clubs to approach the Frenchman about the possibility of either a free transfer in the summer or a move this month.

Meanwhile, Di Marzio reports, clubs in Londom besides Thuram have also shown an interest, whilst the striker has been linked with the likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester United in the past.

According to Di Marzio, though, the Blues are the club pushing the hardest to sign Thuram during the January window, and their latest offer has made the player have a change of heart over the last 24 hours or so.

Now, the Blues are working with the 25-year-old’s representatives and with Gladbach to try and get a deal over the line during this winter transfer window.
