Inter captain Samir Handanovic could be fit enough to start on the bench in Saturday’s Serie A match against Hellas Verona.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Slovenian’s leg injury is only minor and that he could already be ready to make a return to the squad for the weekend.

Handanovic was not in Inter’s squad for their Coppa Italia round of sixteen tie against Parma on Tuesday, due to the captain having suffered a leg injury that meant that he would not have been fit to play.

However, the Gazzetta reports, the problem looks to be very minor, and it should only be a matter of days before the 38-year-old is fully fit again.

Accordingly, there is a decent chance that Handanovic will already be ready to be included in the squad on Saturday as his team host the Gialloblu in Serie A.
