Chris Smalling has yet to give a response to Roma’s offer of a two-season contract extension offer worth €2.5 million net per season.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Il Tempo, via FCInterNews, who report that the 33-year-old is seriously considering the interest in his signature from the likes of Inter and Juventus.

Roma have made their contract extension offer to Smalling clear over the past couple of days.

The €2.5 million net per season offer is less than the Englishman currently earns, but would allow him the security of an additional season on his deal compared to if he were to exercise the option to extend his current contract with the Giallorossi by one year.

The player is thinking about the Giallorossi’s offer, but has yet to give his response which may only arrive in a few weeks’ time.

According to Il Tempo, Smalling is seriously tempted by the interest that has come in for his signature from the likes of the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri.
