Striker Edin Dzeko is inclined towards extending his contract with Inter as the club have scheduled a meeting to try and get a new deal agreed for not long after the Janaury transfer window closes.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 37-year-old is hoping to stay at the Nerazzurri beyond the end of the current season.

Inter have a clear idea of when they will try and get contract extension talks moving with Dzeko, as they will meet the Bosnian’s agent Alessandro Lucci not long after the January transfer window is closed.

The club will certainly not be willing to agree a new deal with the former Roma and Manchester City at terms close to the €5.5 million net per season which he is currently on.

However, the Gazzetta reports that the will on both sides of the table is very much to reach an agreement on a new deal.
