Young Inter-owned forward Darian Males is hopeful that he can one day establish a place for himself in the Nerazzurri’s starting eleven.

Speaking to Swiss news outlet Blick!, via FCInterNews, the 21-year-old who is currently on loan with Basel expressed the hope that he can eventually return to Inter and be ready for the first team.

Males is currently on loan with Basel in the Swiss top flight, where he is currently the top goal-contributor with a total of eight goals and nine assists so far this season.

This has meant that the Swiss club are increasingly keen on making the Swiss forward’s move a permanent one, which they can do with a purchase option worth around €2 million at the end of the season.

For Males’s part, however, the 21-year-old could have other ideas and he would like to eventually return to Inter, although his focus is on the present right now.

“Right now things depend on my agent,” he said, “I’m concentrating on keeping up at the same level as my performances from the autumn.”

Males continued that “One thing is for sure, though, I signed a five-year contract with Inter in 2020 and I hope to one day wear the Nerazzurri shirt, sooner or later.”
