Borussia Monchengladbach head coach Daniel Farke does not expect that forward Marcus Thuram is particularly inclined to leave the Bundesliga club during the January transfer window for any club.

Speaking to Die Fohlen’s official social media channel, via FCInterNews, the coach stressed that in his view Thuram wants to stay this month despite the transfer links to a number of clubs, including Inter.

Thuram is reported to be one of Inter’s main transfer targets in attack, whilst a number of clubs in the Premier League in particular appear to be keen on the 25-year-old’s signature.

The Frenchman will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season when his contract with Gladbach expires, although there have been reports that some of the clubs pursuing him could try to sign him for a fee in January.

All of this would be up to the player, however, and according to his coach Farke, Thuram is not overly enthused by the possibility of leaving for any of the clubs pursuing him at the moment.

“Talking about Marcus,” the coach said, “I don’t think there are many clubs that particularly attract him at the moment.”

“I think he feels at home here at Borussia Monchengladbach,” he continued.

“He’s back here and in great condition, and while you can never rule anything out in this business, I think he’ll have a great second half of the season for us.”
