Inter and Milan are trying to push forward in securing approval for the start to construction on a new stadium in Milan, part of which would entail the demolition of the San Siro to make way.
However, the clubs face yet another obstacle in the form of the threat of an injunction on tearing down the San Siro.
Given that an attempt had already been made in 2020 to seek an injunction of this nature, and this attempt failed, the clubs have been planning since then on the assumption that they will be able to go through with the demolition as part of their plans.
If delays continue based on the process of trying to seek an injunction again, the clubs argue, it will cost them money and delay their new stadium project which they consider vital to modernizing their infrastructure and increasing revenue.
