Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu was once again able to fill the void left by the injured Marcelo Brozovic as the Nerazzurri earned a 1-0 win over Hellas Verona yesterday.

As reported by L’Interista.it, the Turkey international impressed in the Serie A match at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, despite suffering an injury of his own against Monza last weekend.

Calhanoglu had missed Inter’s Coppa Italia win over Parma in midweek but returned to the starting line-up, and L’Interista felt that his performance was worthy of a 7 in their player ratings, whilst he ensured that the Nerazzurri were not left ruing the loss of Brozovic.

La Gazzetta dello Sport described his return to the team as a blessing, but suggested he lacked the pinpoint accuracy in delivery that Inter had grown accustomed to, as they awarded him a 6.5.

The former AC Milan player was given the same score by Tuttosport and Corriere dello Sport, with the latter claiming that he had sacrificed his attacking impact in order to help provide balance in midfield.

Calhanoglu also received a 6.5 from Tuttomercatoweb for his role in the win over Verona.
