Inter have been criticised after failing to learn from their recent mistakes despite securing a 1-0 win over Hellas Verona in Serie A yesterday.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, the Nerazzurri were far from their best against their relegation-threatened opponents, with an early Lautaro Martinez goal settling the match at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

The win came after Inter had thrown away a win over Monza last weekend, as they conceded deep into stoppage time to be held to a 2-2 draw, and then needed a late equaliser and extra-time to overcome Serie B club Parma in the Coppa Italia on Tuesday.

Whilst Verona struggled to make any attacking inroads, they found themselves in Inter’s penalty area just before the final whistle and could have snatched a late equaliser.

Inter failed to kill the game off and it is argued that they got away with another underwhelming performance, but failed to learn their lessons sufficiently.
