Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has received praise for his performance in the 1-0 win over Hellas Verona in Serie A yesterday, in which he scored the only goal.

As reported by L’Interista.it, the Argentina international was considered to be Inter’s best player by a wide range of Italian media, as his third minute goal helped move the Nerazzurri level with Juventus in third place in the Serie A table.

Indeed, La Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport were joined by Corriere dello Sport in awarding Martinez a 7 in their respective player ratings, and it was argued that the former Racing Club striker had dragged Inter to victory single-handedly through his desire and attacking threat.

The 25-year-old was also given a 7 by Tuttomercatoweb and by L’Interista themselves, and was praised for his attitude since enduring a difficult World Cup in Qatar, despite Argentina lifting the trophy.

Martinez has contributed six goals and two assists in his last eight league starts for Inter, with his Serie A goal tally now at nine.
