Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has recovered in time to be included in the squad to travel to Saudi Arabia for the Supercoppa Italiana and could even start against AC Milan.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, the Belgium international has returned to training today as the Nerazzurri prepare to face their bitter rivals in Riyadh, and will travel with the rest of the squad.

Lukaku has struggled for fitness since returning to Inter on loan from Chelsea in the summer, and his latest injury ruled him out of the 1-0 win over Hellas Verona yesterday.

However, with two more training sessions to prove his condition, Lukaku has the opportunity to fight for a place in the team to compete for the first piece of silverware of the season.

Whilst it is not expected that the 29-year-old will start the match at the King Fahd Stadium, it cannot be ruled out entirely.

Inter will travel to Saudi Arabia this evening, with President Steven Zhang joining them, before undergoing a training session there tomorrow.
