Inter striker Edin Dzeko is looking to add the ninth title to his trophy cabinet in Wednesday’s Supercoppa Italiana clash with AC Milan.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who note that the 36-year-old has already won eight trophies in his career spanning several different leagues.

Dzeko got his first piece of silverware over a decade ago, helping lead Wolfsburg to an improbable Bundesliga title during the 2008-09 season.

This form eventually earned the Bosnian a move to Manchester City, although his opponents for Wednesday AC Milan had also been very keen to sign him at the time.

With the Cityzens, Dzeko won a total of five trophies, including two Premier League titles.

When Dzeko moved to Roma in the summer of 2015, he did plenty to establish himself as one of the preeminent strikers in Italian football over six seasons with the Giallorossi.

However, the Bosnian was not able to mark his period in the Italian with any trophies.

After moving to Inter in 2021, however, Dzeko has managed to win both the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana.

The 36-year-old can add another Supercoppa to his resume if he can lead the Nerazzurri to the trophy for the second year on the trot in Wednesday’s Milan derby clash.
