Both Inter coach Simone Inzaghi and his AC Milan counterpart Stefano Pioli could feel that Wednesday evening’s Supercoppa Italiana clash is a match that they virtually have to win.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who argue that Wednesday’s Milan derby clash is a match in which the two coaches will feel that success is obligatory on a personal level even more than for their clubs.

Inzaghi and Pioli both saw their reputations significantly increased at the end of last season, with each of the pair making sure that the city of Milan gained a monopoly on silverware in Italy for the campaign.

This time around, both are chasing Napoli and Luciano Spalletti in the league, and questions have arisen about whether they can maintain the levels they reached last time around.

Whichever of the pair wins Wednesday’s match will get a boost to their reputation.

However, the loser of tomorrow’s match could well be seen as having dropped off decisively compared to last season’s successes.
