Inter could be convinced to allow Marcelo Brozovic to leave for Barcelona as part of a swap deal involving former AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the injuries to the Croat as well as the fact that Kristjan Asllani and Hakan Calhanoglu are on hand to replace him could mean that the Nerazzurri accept a swap deal.
Given Brozovic’s importance to Inter in recent seasons, there would be clear reasons why the Nerazzurri would be reluctant to allow him to leave, even for a long-term target such as Kessie.
However, this season Inter have seen that they can cope without the 30-year-old, perhaps better than they expected.
Brozovic has had a couple lengthy spells out injured, and Calhanoglu has stepped up to fill his role in the team very effectively.
Meanwhile, there is a great deal of faith in Asllani as a long-term replacement for the Croat.
Accordingly, Inter would not be completely opposed to the possibility of allowing Brozovic to leave for Barcelona if it meant that they could sign a player of Kessie’s quality in return.
