Inter and Barcelona are in serious talks regarding a possible swap deal involving midfielders Marcelo Brozovic and Franck Kessie, but the stance of the Blaugranas could determine whether the talks come to anything.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reported live on air moments ago via FCInterNews that the talks between the two clubs are currently on standby, but could restart after the Supercoppa Italiana.

Inter and Barcelona are both currently in Saudi Arabia for their respective Supercup competitions.

The Blaugranas beat Real Madrid in the final of the Supercopa de Espana yesterday evening, whilst the Nerazzurri are set to face off against city rivals AC Milan in the Supercoppa Italiana on Wednesday evening.

It has been reported that the two clubs have been using the opportunity to discuss transfer business, with the names of Brozovic and Kessie emerging as possible candidates to be involved in a swap deal.

According to Di Marzio, there have been some serious talks between the two clubs regarding a possible player exchange of Brozovic for Kessie, although for the moment they are on standby and a lot of work has to be done.

“There’s big news coming from Spain regarding the transfer market, but the rumours about Depay from yesterday haven’t been confirmed,” he said.”

“The other possible swap deal, however, between Brozovic and Kessie, remains a possibility on standby.”

“A lot will depend on Barcelona,” Di Marzio explained, “if they tell Kessie that he’s out of the plans then a deal can happen.”

“And then at that point it will be necessary to see what Inter are thinking as well as the player.”
