Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin believes that Inter have yet to get any serious indications from Barcelona regarding the possibility of a swap deal involving midfielders Marcelo Brozovic and Franck Kessie.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster Telelombardia, via FCInter1908, the journalist explained that while Kessie is a target for the Nerazzurri, they have yet to get to any sort of serious stage in talks with the Blaugranas for the Ivorian.
Kessie has been reported to be a target for Inter in past transfer windows, when the player was at Atalanta or AC Milan.
The 25-year-old made the switch from the Rossoneri to Barcelona during the summer on a free transfer window, but his future could already be away from the Camp Nou.
Transfer rumours over the past few days have linked the former Milan midfielder with a return to Serie A to play for his old team’s city rivals, possibly as part of a swap deal involving Brozovic.
Biasin believes that the talks are not very advanced, whilst the journalist also has his doubts about whether pursuing such a deal would be a good idea for the Nerazzurri.
“I’m a huge fan of Brozovic,” he said, “to me he’s an absolutely top player.”
“In my opinion, saying that he’s no longer irreplaceable given the form of Calhanoglu in his normal position would be to underestimate the importance of Brozovic to this team,” he continued.
“I would never make this swap deal,” Biasin argued.
The journalist then noted that “I tried to verify whether there’s any truth to this, and I can guarantee that Inter have not heard from Barcelona at the moment.”
“I don’t know what the club would do if such an offer were to arrive,” he continued.
“Kessie is a player that Ausilio has always been a fan of,” Biasin noted.
